Brian Hood bought a catchcan from Summit to replace the standard breather filter mod on the valve cover. The reason for a filter is this - the line that goes from the valve cover to the intake hose is constantly sucking oil vapor into the intake system, and sooner or later you end up with a film of oil all over the inside of your intercooler, decreasing its' efficieny. The advantage to the catchcan install is that you don't get oil sprayed onto your Hood like you do when you put a breather directly on the valve cover fitting, and you just turn a valve to empty the built up oil.
